Léon Ferlier, né à Roubaix en avril 1866 apprit le métier de cordonnier dès son adolescence mais très vite, son goût pour la pâtisserie l’entraîna à travailler dans la gaufrerie DEMEULENEIRE à Roubaix.
Il ne s’imaginait pas qu’en épousant la sœur, Marie Demeuleneire en 1892, cela aurait provoqué un tournant dans sa carrière.
